Webbed Marketing Webinar: Effectively Measuring Online Campaigns
Perhaps the most important, and difficult, aspect of marketing is proving value. Once executed, campaigns are tracked and measured to the point of exhaustion. This is especially true with online marketing campaigns. However, many online marketing campaigns and promotions are difficult to measure; creating "more buzz" is not a measurable metric! Amy Marshall will lead this discussion identifying which metrics are credible and how to quantify them. She will teach how to explain the results of complex online marketing campaigns, such as word of mouth episodes. Marshall is the co-founder of Webbed Marketing and presented the agency's award winning essay measuring word of mouth metrics at the 2009 Word of Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA) Research Symposium. Register at www.webbedmarketing.com/webinars.html.

From Domainer's Magazine: Quick Q&A with SES Chicago speaker Bill Balderaz . In between issues and web updates, Domainer's Magazine had a chat with Bill Balderaz, president and founder of Webbed Marketing. Bill will be speaking at the Blogging for Business Session on day 3 of SES Chicago. Domainer's Mag: From an SEO perspective, what are the differences between online marketing in the early dot-com days of the 90s and today? Bill: Back in the early days we could put “Pamela Anderson” in white text on a white background. Stuff a bunch of keywords into a site and rank very well. The name of the game was site traffic growth, or “eyeballs” as we said back then. Most SEO was done “on page” so to rank well you just needed to repeat keywords.

From Hot Blogger Calendar: It’s hard to point you to Hot Blogger press, because if it’s by a nominee, then it does feel like saying hey, we endorse this person, vote for them. And we don’t mean that. Voting is totally unbiased. And that’s why we’ve got our “Press” section up there. So with the disclaimer that this is not an endorsement of any nominee, every now and then there’s a post that is so great we can’t help ourselves. And last night Bill Balderaz added another.

August 23, 2008
From BetterMeInc.com: I work for a small internet marketing firm that has a unique take on how attitude effects business. The company’s owner, Bill Balderaz, left a great career at a larger marketing corporation because he wanted to start his own firm that could “break all the rules.” The whole attitude exuded by the company is a laid back exterior to a hard working core. For example, we are not required to show up at our office and regularly work from home (or anywhere we can connect). We all trust that we are working hard and it is evident due to the immense body of work that our small team manages to handle. When we do show up to the office, we are rewarded with beer and bar snacks. Read more.

From PRNewser: A key factor in people wanting to promote HARO is the "what's in it for me" factor, as mentioned by DuctTape Marketing blogger Bill Balderaz, "Every blogger has received a pitch asking him or her to promote aluminum lawn chairs or a new software. Most of these pitches fall on deaf ears because there is no "what's in it for me." But HelpAReporter is a great service that has proven its value (at least it has to us here at Webbed). So if I get the occasional reminder to promote the service, I'm going to do it. Not just to be a nice guy. But because ultimately it helps our agency and our clients."

From Andrea Hill: The final session of the day that I attended was on strategies for blogging and social networking marketing. Some of the content was similar to the viral campaign session I’d attended earlier, I liked the use of the one specific case study to frame their work. Right away speaker Bill Balderaz of Webbed Marketing laid out the three things you need for success: 1. a compelling hook 2. the right channels 3. identify client goals. Read more about Bill's presentation on Strategies for Blogging and Social Network Marketing.

From Lara Kretler's Blog: It’s worth noting that Bill Balderaz invented a cool tool of his own for measuring online buzz. The Webbed-O-Meter, which specifically measures the buzz around a specific site. Check it out - just plug in your site’s URL and based on a series of metrics, it will spit back out a number between 0 and 100 which is your site’s online buzz rating. It’s fun to track this over time and see how you can move the needle through good PR and online marketing campaigns. I just checked out the buzz scores for Twitter (a decent 61.1 out of 100) and Plurk (a measly 41.1 out of 100). Let’s check back on that in a month or two and see how it’s changed.

DigitalEve Columbus: How to Build a Blog.
If you want to establish yourself as a thought leader, market your company online, or have something to say to the world, you can do it with a blog. A blog (short for web log) is a web site that provides information or commentary on a particular subject or just an open record of your thoughts. Blogging used to be for geeks only, now it's a lot easier and can make a huge impact on your online presence and brand. Beth Griese will discuss how blogs work and how to build your own. Beth started her career with CompuServe, one of the first worldwide online service providers, teaching companies how to build their online presence. She currently is the product marketing manager of blogs and web 2.0 presence for MindLeaders, an e-learning company dedicated to changing lives through learning.
